Blended Total Immersion Week - Advanced Regional and Transversal Skills

October 2026: Italian Excellence

9th Pan-European FWPM as Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme on the Campus of Universit脿 Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Italy

From October 19 鈥� 23, 2026 (plus short online preparational and follow-up activities in the days before and after this period), the English-language FWPM 鈥淏lended Total Immersion Week 鈥� Advanced Regional and Transversal Skills鈥� will take place for the ninth time as part of the Erasmus+ programme track "Blended Intensive Programme (BIP)" on the campus of the TH AB partner institution Universit脿 Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, in Piacenza. Piacenza is a historic city in Northern Italy, situated between the Po River and the Apennines. Known as (Italy's Firstborn), it is a Roman-founded city (218 BC) known for its Renaissance architecture, the Farnese Palace, and rich, authentic local cuisine. It sits in the so-called Food and Motor Valley at the intersection of Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna close to Milan.

The FWPM is creditable with 5 ECTS towards the profile "BW/BWR International". A total of five places are available for students from Aschaffenburg UAS. The other participants come from our partner universities in France (Universit茅 de Bretagne-Sud), Italy (Universit脿 Cattolica del Sacro Cuore), Spain (Universidad M谩laga), Finland (Turku UAS) and Sweden (Mid Sweden University). The elective is hosted by one of these European partners in turn each semester and took place for the first time in March 2022 organised by Aschaffenburg UAS.

The motto of the BIP at the Universit脿 Cattolica del Sacro Cuore is "Italian Excellence"; the participants will get to know Italy as a living laboratory: experience Italian tradition, design, and industry through an innovative lens that blends heritage with future-oriented thinking. During the BIP, the notion of excellence will be questioned and redefined. In particular, Italian excellence as an evolving concept will be explored and the critical mindset needed to navigate and reshape complex global contexts will be developed. 

The BIP鈥檚 underlying concept of Total Immersion includes a language taster course in Italian/tandem partnerships as well as cultural activities like immersing themselves in Northern Italian culture and taking part in excursions matching the motto 鈥� in addition to subject-specific and intercultural content.

Application

If you are at least in the 3rd semester of a Bachelor programme at the Faculty of Business and Law and are interested in this FWPM, you can apply for one of the five places for students of Aschaffenburg UAS exclusively by sending a letter of motivation in English (1 page, Arial 11p, 1.5 spacing) to the International Office (international-office(at)th-ab.de) AND Prof. Dr. Renate Link (renate.link(at)th-ab.de) by 30 April, 2026.
